Position:

Warehouse Lead

about the role:

CSC LED is seeking a full-time Warehouse Lead to join our team in British Columbia. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely and accurate assembly/shipping of orders. The Warehouse Lead will be required to work independently and supervise warehouse associates to ensure day to day operations are completed professionally and with a positive attitude

Responsibilities:

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and process transportation utilizing various methods of communication including phone calls, carrier portals and software according to shipping instructions.
  • Pick and prepare outgoing shipments with appropriate packaging, pallet wrap, and labelling
  • Professionally handle customer and logistics personnel during order pickup/returns
  • Unload and organize inbound inventory shipments
  • Prepare outgoing transfers between branches
  • Maintain organization of inventory within existing racking system
  • Ensure warehouse is kept clean and tidy
  • Adhere to internal QC/Auditing processes
  • Report inventory inaccuracies immediately
  • Occasional pick-up or deliveries with company van
  • Safe operation of forklifts (counter balance) or other warehouse equipment
  • Proper maintenance of forklift and warehouse equipment
  • Manage warehouse associates, including overseeing daily tasks and conducting performance reviews
Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Experience with material handling equipment & forklift license (training available for strong candidates who meet all other requirements)
  • Priority will be given to candidates with prior leadership experience
  • Experience using email, MS Word, Adobe, and carrier portals/software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrate personal time management skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, reach, and bend sometimes for long periods of time
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
  • Valid G license with clean abstract

Experience:

  • Warehouse: 4 years (required)
  • Leadership: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Forklift License (preferred)

Salary: $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Position:

Warehouse & Logistics Manager

about the role:

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will work closely with CSC LED's 3 locations and will directly oversee all warehouse staff at the BC, AB, and ON branches. Travel to other CSC LED locations will be required from time to time. The ideal candidate will be primarily located in our Port Coquitlam, BC location. This is not a remote work position.

Responsibilities:

Warehouse Staff Management:
- Hire (when applicable), manage & train warehouse staff including annual performance reviews
- Create and manage projects to improve warehouse efficiency and organization. This includes working with our IT Manager to improve digital processes and flows

Warehouse Management and Maintenance:
- Plan efficient ways of storing inventory to optimize space, including planning for incoming container shipments, branch transfers, etc.
- Work with the Order & Inventory Manager and warehouse staff to arrange for accurate cycle counts (4 times a year)
- Maintain safe warehouses and ensure all equipment and employee certifications are up to date

Receive containers:
- Responsible for accurately receiving incoming stock through container deliveries
- May be required to receive/arrange shipments after hours as needed (very rare)

Branch Transfers:
- Work with the Order and Inventory Manager to prepare and ship inter-branch transfers with accuracy and efficiency
- Determine the most cost-efficient way to ship branch transfers

Shipping Carrier Rates and Service Comparisons:
- Negotiate and monitor carrier rates nationally and regionally
- Review carrier invoices to ensure they match rates/quotes and approve for payment
- Monitor carrier service performance
- Liaise with representatives from our most frequent carriers
- Determine which carriers are best during different seasons and shipping lanes

Carrier Claims (damaged, lost, delayed, etc.)
- Train and assist warehouse staff to submit claims with carriers for product damage or lost in transit
- Train and assist warehouse staff to communicate with carriers to follow up on delayed or mis-delivered shipments

Mis-shipment Corrections:
- Train and assist warehouse staff to re-ship correct products
- Train and assist warehouse staff to arrange the return of the mis-shipped product
- Track mis-shipments as a KPI to monitor problem areas or trends
- Train and assist warehouse staff to ensure the error does not repeat

Other Duties as Required:
- Be prepared to take on shipping/receiving duties when required needed in any branch
- Ensure warehouses are stocked with necessary supplies
- Assist with maintenance and storage of the sales van
- Assist and oversee product modifications and product recycling as needed (training provided)
 

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience:

- Leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Minimum 3 years experience in a related position
- Organizational and multitasking abilities
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Knowledge of inventory practices and warehouses
- Recognized degree in business, supply chain management, or related field
- Continuous learning about industry trends and technologies is beneficial

Benefits and Perks:

Salary: $90,000 per year
Paid Vacation: 10 days per year
Paid Personal Days: 2 days per year
Paid Sick Time: 5 days per year
Comprehensive Benefit plan *after 3 month probation period as per standard employment law
Regular Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM
